I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Levental Lab at University of Virginia. My background is in computer science and mathematics but during graduate school I began incorporating wet lab work into my research on equal par with my computational investigations. I received a PhD from Cornell University where I studied biophysics of asymmetric membranes in model systems with Harel Weinstein and Gerald Feigenson. Shortly after starting my postdoctoral work in the Levental Lab I received the NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship to investigate transient loss of plasma membrane asymmetry in mammalian cells.

I am generally interested in fundamental problems pertaining to lipid membranes and often aim to answer questions like How? and Why? through creative, interdisciplinary, and hypothesis-driven research.
